I know in order to watch Cinema-On-Demand on Directv before it required a decent ISP (not like AT&T) to stream the videos. However, I was scrolling through the Cinema list in the guide today and it shows movies that are on demand and I went to watch it assuming it would have to download, but it started playing immediately, and was all the way orange as if it were recorded. Do they now have a way to directly deliver on demand content to your receiver?

I'm not 100% sure about this (and I'm sure I will be corrected if I'm wrong), but I believe that the non-free On Demand movies are "pushed" to your box. They are downloaded from the satellite and recorded on the hard drive. This happens during times the box is idle.

Even if I'm wrong, still a better answer than the first guy.

the 1080p HD on demand content is downloaded because of the bandwidth needed for 1080 makes it impossible to broadcast live, so it is downloaded at a slower rate. Non- HD ppv and vod is always available immediately

There's good news and bad news about Michelle. The good news? She's the only sincere one in the family. The bad news? She hates "mean" America, was never proud of being an American, and is probably a racist in the spirit of Rev. Wright. She sure as hell looks angry. Strange, since she got her cushy job paying $400K/year at the University of Chicago Hospitals because ...? Perhaps because Barack put in an earmark of >$1Million for ...The University of Chicago Hospitals.
