Hauppauge HD PVR Drivers?

Question

So I bought a Hauppauge HD PVR about a month ago, and I have been having some issues. Well, this has happened once before. So I am recording my Xbox 360 Game play and all of a sudden, when I attempt to restart my recording on ArcSoft TotalMedia Recorder, it says my capture device is already in use. So I shut down all of the programs running, and I try again and it still says this. When it happened before, I tried to reinstall the program and the drivers but it said it could not find updated drivers. Then, when I tried the next day, it worked. I just tried reinstalling the program but I got the same driver error. I know that the HD PVR gets warm quick, but I am making sure I am not overheating it as I don't want it to fry on me.

Does anyone know where I can get an updated version of the drivers and TotalMedia Extreme, that would be great. Thanks!

If problem persist could you post an update as to your OS is it WinXP or Vista??

Do you have enough RAM that is one of the top questions as to it failing from time to time it loves RAM?

You did good with the uninstall and the reinstall as well.

The Hauppauge HD PVR has a heating problem that can get out of control if the right precautions are not taken. I would highly recommend that you consult with a Hauppauge authorized technician about this problem. You can use any search engine to find Hauppage technical support and website. Call them, Email them and tell them exactly what you are experiencing.

I know it is sometimes a pain to get in touch with their tech support or customer service, but be patient and let them know exactly what you are going through. Someone will help you.

If the problem persist after you have applied a new update to the HD PVR then you might consider returning the hd pvr from hauppauge. You are still within the first 90 days of the product so returning is still possible depending on where you purchased it. Don't keep anything that might catch your house on fire. It's just not worth it in the long run. As I said there are other HD PVR's on the market that you can purchase to give you great video game footage. And most of them don't require a computer.
