I know what are you wrong, most home DVD player only recognize the standard video DVD which isn't single video file, it is a group file, include VOB, IFO and BUP files. some special DVD player can play avi video files on disc, such as divx certified DVD player(your friends dvd player), so if you want to convert and burn any movies to DVD, and can play well on most home DVD player, you should use the right software to burn standard video DVD from your movies, there is an easy way and the better choice, you can try RZ DVD Creator, it can create/burn standard video DVD from any movies, it can burn long movies into one DVD, it can burn multiple movies into one DVD, it can auto fit the size, it can directly convert and burn any movies to video DVD(DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R DL, DVD+R DL, etc), such as avi to DVD, etc.

RZ DVD Creator also can create Divx/Xvid AVI Video DVD from any movies.

Yahoo or google search and download "RZ DVD Creator", work well, most functionality, easy to use, hope it can help you.

You don't say which program you used to burn your dvd, but you most likely burned a data disc. Some newer dvd players can play avi files. Your video would have to be converted into dvd format in order to play on a standard player.

Find out the make and model of the DVD player that it won't work on,.. and let google be your friend,.. If you don't find anything go to the manufacturers website and call the customer care/support number and ask them if AVI works on it,.. If it works on 1 and not the other then the DVD itself is fine,.. sounds like a format that your DVD player does not play possibly

It could be as simple as-your dvd player might not play "homemade" DVD's ive made my own as well, and for some reason they will work on my older crappier dvd players, but not my newer one. It just has to do with what types of dvds your player will play (mine work on Toshiba player, but not magnavox)... It might have something to do with the way you are burning them, but i think its a little impossible to know which specific formats will work with your dvd player. You are doing something right, because you said you are getting it to work on another player...

You try Cucusoft VCD / SVCD / DVD Creator., That is cheap and easy to use, I like it, my friend is using it, I hope you like it

Cucusoft Mpeg/Mov/RMVB/DivX/AVI to DVD/VCD/SVCD Converter Pro is easy to use and powerful for experts as well.

It enables you to convert and burn any video file directly to VCD, DVD, SVCD, MPEG1 and MPEG2 format. Pro version included all the features of the lite version. In addition, it has embedded "DVD Author Express" and "DVD/VCD/SVCD Burner Engine". So it becomes an all-in-one VCD/SVCD/DVD Creator. And this program has been optimized for 64-bit CPU including Intel EM64T and AMD64. The video conversion speed is faster than most of our competitors.

if you want to know more, you should be able to find it in this
