Help with U-Verse and X-Box Live?

I have a X-Box 360 and would like to go online. My main router thing is in the basement, which has no television, and my 360 is upstairs. I plugged one side of the Ethernet cable in the back of my 360 and one in the back of a normal U-Verse box. Yea, it worked but their is one problem. My mom tried to get on internet and it said "Limited or no connectivity." My mom got angry and told me to unplug my Ethernet from the U-Verse box. Then connection worked fine. If there is anyone experienced or has U-Verse can you please help me, so I can go on X-Box Live from my upstairs U-Verse Box with my connection staying up?

Since you do not have a wireless adapter for your X-Box 360 and want to connect with a wired connection you can buy adapters for an ethernet connection. One adapter linked below is provided on the AT&T store. You may be able to find a similar adapter on the Internet or an electronic store. The adapter will plug into a wall outlet next to the gateway (2 Wire router) and into the gateway with an ethernet cord. The other adapter will plug into an outlet upstairs and into the X-Box 360 with an ethernet connection. If you have the correct network settings on your X-Box 360 it will connect you automatically to the internet and you will need to set up a X-Box live account.

Note: The only other way you can connect your X-Box 360 is with a wireless adapter that will work with your X-Box 360 and you can connect wirelessly to the gateway.

if you get limited or no connectivity on your computer it simply means that you are connected to a network but it is either your computer is connected to a network that is not your network or you are connected to your network but the encryption key that you have typed is incorrect.



to check if you are connected to your own network, you should connect to 2wirexxx (xxx - last three digits of the serial number of your router) and your netwrok key (aka wep key is found at the sticker at one of the sides of your router it is called the wireless network key)

--- that is if you have not customized your network key and your network name.



try to disconnect your wireless connection of your pc first and reconnect to your 2wirexxx again, so that you will have the chance to type in the correct network key..
