So I recieved my hd pvr around christmas time and ever since i've been having a problem with my pvr. Occasionally while im playing a game on my xbox or watching tv my screen will flicker for about 5 seconds and say "No Signal" and then goes back to normal after those 5 seconds. Is there any tips for this problem Ive updated the drivers tried different inputs but it happens a bit too often now and gets annoying.

I have an idea that it might be programs running in the background conflicting with your setup.....so we call that a 'Hiccup'. So most Video Editors like having what is called a clean machine thats where it really has nothing on it but the video software and some Adobe stuff...

To get around that turn off your laptops programs running in the background especially if you have a Toshiba or Dell they have so many things running. The following is to give your laptop more performance.

NOTE:

Go to My Computer right click go to Properties then choose from the tabs Advanced and then choose under Performance and click Settings then click the one titled 'Adjust for best performance'

Sounds more like a problem with your TV and not your PVR since it's also happening with your Xbox as well.

Since it happens on different outputs as well, it sounds as though that whole component board is bad. If the TV is still under warranty give the manufacturer a call and find out what to do. If not, just call your local TV repair shop and see what they think. In some cases it may just be cheaper to buy a new TV, unfortunately.
