I am going to live somewhere this summer that has a tv already and all I can see from the picture is that it has a cable box like this. Just hoping to find this out before I move so I know whether or not my dvd player will work with it. I dont know if there are a lot of variations of this cable box but it looks like this:

Thanks.

That set top box in the link does NOT have HDMI because its not even an HD set top box.

Now if its one of these then it would have an HDMI port (they look a little similar to the one you linked to).

Connect all devices to the tv's input ports using hdmi cables, you should have 2 hdmi ports. Then run a a/v or digital cable from the tv's audio output, to the receivers audio input. You will have s/s on all devices going thru the tv to the receiver.

Connect HDMI or component cables from cable box and Home Theater System to TV for video then optical cable from cable box to Home Theater System for audio.
