Just wondering if I am watching the video directly from the recorder if I can then tivo that.

I think you're asking whether or not you can record something that's playing on your VCR over to your TiVo. I think the answer is yes, in theory. You would have to connect the VCR out cables to the inputs on your TiVo and then connect the TiVo to your TV. Not sure if the infrared cables that TiVo provides will work to change the channels on your VCR though. But I would think if you played a tape, you'd be able to record it on your TiVo, although the menu selections to do this won't be intuitive at all, since the TiVo isn't designed with this type of recording in mind.

Sure. I've done it with both VCRs and with standalone DVD recorders. It just becomes part of the daisy-chain of components leading to the TV.



A) Input: antenna, cable or satellite -->

B) DVR or Tivo -->

C) Recorder, VCR or DVD standalone -->

D) Finally, the TV
